William “Bill” Chester Yancy Jr, 74, of Ider, AL, was called home on May 2, 2020. Bill was a member of the Holiness Church for over 38 years. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning and was just a few credits shy of his Master’s degree. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after serving two terms. He was the owner operator of Yancy’s body shop for over 20 years. He worked for BASF corporation for 15 years selling auto paint systems. He loved vintage cars and most of the family photos included ones to prove that! He was very generous, always willing to help those he felt was less fortunate than himself, even if he was the less fortunate. He was an extremely talented artist that could recreate anything. Bill had a witty sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved to serve the Lord, playing the guitar and Alabama football. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia Yancy; daughters, Cindy (Chad) Spurgeon and Michelle (Tony) Kessler; son, Nathan (Marina) Yancy; son in-law, Billy Wagner; sister, Shirley Horton; grandchildren, Colby, Austin and Mikayla Wagner; Sam, Luke and Adrianna Yancy; Cooper Spurgeon; great-grandchildren Quinn and Sawyer Wagner. Graveside services will be held at Brown Gap Cemetery on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 5:00 PM EDT. Brother Brent Michaels and Brother Edwin Spurgeon will officiate the service. Amber Leigh Nichols, 39, of New Salem, GA, passed away on April 30, 2020. She will be forever loved and forever missed.
Amber was a full-time loving mother, wife and loved her animals. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Wilma Warren; Wayne and Ruth Bailey.
Survivors includes her husband, Donald “Happy” Nichols; son, Donnie Nichols; parents, David (Sheila) Warren, Pam Pierce; brother, Kevin Warren.
Due to the current health regulations, the immediate family will have a private service with Brother Jim Hixon officiating.

Elizabeth Eulala Sharp Middlebrooks, 87, of, Chickamauga, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at her residence. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother and was known to her family as “Nannie.”
Elizabeth was born on July 14, 1932 in Ft. Payne, Alabama to the late Wallace Doyal & Katie Sharp. She married the love of her life, Ernest “Junior” Middlebrooks on May 22, 1948 and were together for 67 wonderful years. Junior passed away in 2016. Following her retirement from Mar-Mode Hosiery Mill, Elizabeth enjoyed working with her husband in their wood-working shop, cooking, doing crafts, embroidery, and fabric painting. She was well-known for her awesome chess cake and homemade sourdough bread. She was a member of the Tiftonia Holiness Church for 46 years.
Survivors include her daughter & caregiver, Karen Middlebrooks Lowrance; son, Lebron (Tammy) Middlebrooks; grandson, Christopher (Charity) Lowrance; granddaughters, Holly (Trent) Heard, & Heather (Tyson) Henshaw; great-grandchildren, Clay & Kellie Lowrance, Haylie & Hayden Heard, Tytus & Triton Henshaw; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Brother Troy Lawson & Brother Darrell Townson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South in Rossville.
