Coolidge “Jack” Jackson Downer, 75, of Lookout Valley, Tn, departed this life surrounded by a loving family Saturday, April 18, 2020 and united with his son, Jason Walker Downer, mother, Madeline Stephens, and father, Reuben C. Downer in Heaven.

Jack graduated from Kirkland High School in 1961. He was a Lieutenant for the Chattanooga Fire Department and retired from Fire Station #20 in 1995. He was known throughout his life as a very talented home and custom cabinet builder. He loved hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He loved cars and restored many beautiful ones through the years. He was a hard worker, a true friend and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a kind and gentle man whose biggest joy was spending time with his family.

Jack shared a deep love with his wife and best friend of 43 years, Joyce Parrish Downer, and was an inspiring example to his children, Jeff (Christine) Downer, Bill Thompson, Tish Holland (Gary) Downs, Lisa Downer (Michael) Murphy and a loving brother to Judi Downer Hoell who will all miss him dearly along with 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thanks to his niece, Tammy English for the loving care she gave her Poppy and her immeasurable support for his wife and children and to John Holland for his continued love and support during this difficult time.

Johnny C. Wallen, 87, of Wildwood, GA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Wildwood, Mr. Wallen was a graduate of Dade County High School and was a member and deacon of New England Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force where he obtained the rank of Staff Sargent and retired as an ironworker and member of the Ironworkers Union #704. Johnny was a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, the Alhambra Shrine, and musician’s local #80. He also served a vice-president & board of director for the Dade County Historical Society and the Dade County Industrial Development Committee. Johnny loved his farm and his family and was preceded in death by his parents, Pete & Gertie Smith Wallen.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia Blevins Wallen; daughters, Alice (Terry) Sutphin and Sandra (George) Reed; grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Reed, Kane (Emily) Sutphin, & Alice Nicole Reed; great-granddaughter, Virginia Claire Reed; sisters, Lib Street & Ruth Moore; several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Wallen will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

TRENTON, GA.: Bobby Lee Boatfield, 66, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020, at home with his family by his side. He was born March 25, 1954 to the late Robert Lee and Ruby Boatfield. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Rising Fawn Church of God. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Sue Boatfield; daughters, Cissey (David) Vaughn, Christal (Chris) McPhetridge, Leanna (Joe) Page; son, Bobby Lee (Courtney) Boatfield II; sister, Brenda Boatfield; brothers, Johnny and Randy Boatfield; nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. The family will have a private graveside service at Trenton Baptist Cemetery on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Brother Chris Hagler officiating.
