TRENTON, GA: Betty Jane Ross, age 77, a loving mother mother, wife and grandmother passed away, Saturday, February 22, 2020. She had worked for Lookout Mountain Golf Course and was a member of Trenton Ministry Center.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Durward and Mamie Johnson ; granddaughter, Dena Wilson.


Survivors include her husband James Rufus Ross; daughters, Michelle (Travis) Womack, Jackie (Bobby) Walker; sons, Mark Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Kenneth (Cindy) Wilson, James (Stacy) Ross, Jr.; sister, Wanda (Gary) Tallent and Charlotte Lynn; brother, Robert (Myra) Johnson; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.


Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM

TRENTON, GA: Betty Jewell Burrell,age 85, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020. Her life revolved around her faith in Jesus Christ and her family. She was an immaculate housekeeper, great cook and a hard-worker. Betty was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Hartline; grandson, Josh Burrell; brothers, Ollie Hartline, Alvin Hartline and Winfred Hartline; sisters, Christine Bradford, Ruth Gross, Grace Elliott, Irene Bodenhamer.


Survivors include her loving family, husband of over 66 years, Troyce Burrell; sons, Roger (Debbie) Burrell and Jerome (Sandy) Burrell; sister, Pauline Christopher; three grandchildren, Shannon (Chasity) Burrell, Adam (Jessica) Burrell, Lamar (Christy) Burrell; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday. February 25, 2020 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Witt, Rev. Adam Burrell and Rev. Edward Rosser officiating. Interment will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery.


Family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA. Mrs. Burrell will lie in state at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

TRENTON, GA: Boyd Erwin Scott, age 55, passed away February 17, 2020. He was a loving father, grandfather lovingly called “Pap” by the girls he loved dearly, son, brother, and friend. He never met a stranger.


Boyd was a huge Alabama fan. He inherited the ability to tell adventurous tall tales from his Grand Pap James Thomas Scott.


He was preceded in death by his father James Travis Scott; brothers Samuel Lee Scott and Travis Wayne Scott; nephew Nathaniel Johnson.


He is survived by his sons Brandon (Anjelica) Scott, Lawrenceville, GA and Dustin (Erica) Scott, Trenton, GA; two grandchildren Elisabeth Ann Scott and Giavanna Erin Scott; mother Anna Bernice Scott; sister Sandra Scott Goodman, Bryant, AL; brother James Darren Scott, Bryant, AL.; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM EST in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Brent Smith officiating.


The family will receive friends Friday, February 21, beginning at 2:00 PM until time of service.
