CHICKAMAUGA, GA: Kathy Evon Phillips, age 42, passed away January 21, 2020 in Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter Kristin Phillips, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.; son Dakota Phillips, Rising Fawn, GA.; mother Margaret Louise Raines; sisters Tena McDaniel, Trenton, GA., Jessica Raines, Chickamauga, GA; brother Robert Raines, Lookout Valley, TN.; nieces Shellie Raines, Britney Raines, and Breana Schupska; nephews Ashton, Austin and Corey Raines, and several cousins.


Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Lonnie Denney officiating.


Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00 PM.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Association.

Paul H. Long, 63, of Trenton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 surrounded by his family.


Paul was a collector of many things and enjoyed working with his hands, whether it be digging ginseng or arrowheads, or helping others work on their vehicles, he was certainly a “jack-of-all trades.” Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Long & Alma Jean McBee, and brothers, Larry “Dude” Ferrell, David Long, & Greg Long.


Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Bonita Breedlove Long; children, Lydia (Daniel) Jones, Cookeville, TN, Wendy (Michael) Massey, Kimberly Long, & Keith Long, all of Trenton, GA; grandchildren, Blaine Ogle, Blake Ogle, Michaela Massey, Laila Massey, Norah Massey, Charlie Gilbreath & Penelope Gilbreath; brothers, Jeff & Harry Long, Jr; sisters, Denise Caldwell, Mollie Barrett, Debbie Davis, Chasity Helton, Terri Mahaffey, Jessie Long & Brenda Frayer; several nieces & nephews.


Graveside services will be held Friday, January 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Shantytown Cemetery with Donnie Moreland, Jr. officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Fort Payne, AL: Edith Jane Keeton West, 87 years old, passed away January 14, 2020 at her home in Fort Payne, Al. She was born August 26, 1932 in Ider, Al to the late Victor and Edith Keeton.


Janie graduated from Dade County High School Class of 1949. She then attended Edmundson School of Business in Chattanooga TN.


She moved from Rising Fawn, Ga to Fort Payne, AL in the early 60's.


She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known as "Memaw" to all that loved her.


Janie had a tremendous love of the outdoors, working in her yard and flowers brought her joy. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her great-grandsons. Whether playing ball, watching them swim, or just sitting and listening to them.


She is survived by her daughter Nita West Stevens; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Holly and Benji Haney; great-grandsons Tybee and Hudson Haney; sister Nina Stallings; many nieces and nephews.


Janie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Keeton and brother-in-law Roy Stallings.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 EST on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA with Darrell Haney officiating. Burial to follow at Deer Head Cove.


The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 at Moore Funeral Home.
