Joyce Odessa Daniel, age 79, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Mrs. Daniel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was an active member of the Fairview Church of God. Her passion and love for God was seen daily in the way she loved and served others.


Preceded in death by her husband Jerry Calvin Daniel; father and mother J.T. and Carrie Bell Hartbarger Haun; brothers Johnny and Kenneth Haun; granddaughter Krystie Daniel.


Surviving include her daughter Donna (James) Horton of Higdon, AL; son Rickey Daniel of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; 11 grandchildren Holly (Aaron) Perry, Amber (Daniel) Weller, Amanda (Robert) Stephenson, Rickey A. (Emily) Daniel, Heavynne Daniel, Hannah Daniel, Michael Horton, Jonathon Horton, Melissa (Chris) Wooten, Ed (Shonda) Long, and Emily Horton; 17 great-grandchildren Jordan Long, Erik Long, Katie Long, Ely Perry, Harrison Weller, Rosalind Weller, Genevieve Weller, Brie Stephenson, Miley Farmer, Addalaide Daniel, Alyson Boyd, Lindsey Horton, Drake Horton, Rayne Horton, Liberty Wooten, Crosslan Wooten, Gentry Wooten; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and neighbors that she loved dearly.


Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2019 in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Stanford and Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Browns Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, and 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday at the Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.

Donald Ray Coppinger, 71, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at his residence.


Mr. Coppinger was born to the late Austin & Mary Ruth Coppinger on March 4, 1948 in Monteagle, Tennessee. He retired from Yates Bleachery in Flintstone, Georgia and was a member of the Kelly’s Ferry Church of God.


Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, Deborah Sue Johnson Coppinger; step-son, Tim Goodwin; step-daughter, Wendy Beaty & family; grandchildren, Brittany, Michael, & Brandon Goodwin; several nieces and nephews.


A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at his residence, 134 Ramey Hedge Access, Trenton, GA 30752.

RISING FAWN, GA: Travis “Pop” Dean Westbrook, age 89, passed away September 19, 2019. He was a member of Lea’s Chapel Baptist Church, Valley Head, AL. Mr. Westbrook proudly served his country in the US Army.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Westbrook; parents Lloyd and Exa De Alva Westbrook.


Survivors include his daughters Linda (Danny) Swafford, Apison, TN; Susan (Randy) Gross, Birchwood, TN.; Christine Westbrook, Henagar, AL., Emily Westbrook, Flat Rock, AL.; sons Travis “Tab” (Robin) Westbrook Jr. of Rising Fawn and David (Brenda) Westbrook, Madison, GA.; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM CDT at Lea’s Chapel Baptist Church, Valley Head, AL. with Brother Richard Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery with full military honors.


The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
