TRENTON, GA: Evelyn Thelma Blevins, age 90, passed away September 9, 2019. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Blevins, daughter Rebecca Taylor, parents Abe and Vela Harris; sister Velvie Moore; brother Carter Helton Harris.


She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (Winston) McBryar, Patricia (Ricky) Cooper; sons Micheal Blevins and Eugene Blevins; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Franklin Delano Bedwell, 78, of Trenton, Ga. passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019. He enjoyed collecting hats, watching the Braves, and being retired. He was a member of Circle of Faith Church.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Grace Bedwell; parents, William and Dorothy Bedwell; son, Larry Newman; and daughter, Roberta Newman Kirk.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela (Ronnie) O’Shields of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Regina (Jim) Blalock of Gastonia, N.C., Margie (Glenn) Kay of Chickamauga, Ga., Esther (Leamon) McKinney, of Birmingham, Ala., and Robin (Steve) Patton of Trenton, Ga; son, James (Ginze) Newman of Harrison, Tenn.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.


Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday September 10, 2019 in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Howell and Jackie Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Hooker Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4 PM until 8 PM Monday and 11 AM until service time Tuesday at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.

Joseph Edd Stephens, Sr., age 80, of Trenton, GA died at his residence Wednesday morning September 4, 2019. He was a supervisor for Centria Construction and a member of Iron Workers Local #704 of Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Stephens was a Veteran of the US Army serving during Vietnam. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Winnie Otis and Ida Frankie Sanford Stephens, grandson Stephen McCormick; Siblings Otis Stephens, Edith Michaels, Naomi Womack, Joe Stephens, Alice Weaver and Grace Marona.


Surviving include his loving wife of 54 years Carolyn Sue Stephens of Trenton, GA; daughter April (Wayne) McCormick of Ooltewah, TN; sons James E. (Shelly) Stephens and Joseph Edd “Joey” Stephens, Jr. both of Trenton, GA; seven grandchildren Melissa and Ethan Blevins, Stephanie (Travis) Fitzgerald, Kristen McCormick, Jessalynn (Brandon) Ziehr, Dallas Stephens, and Nicole Stephens; five great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Townsend and Martha (Peter) Reed of Bryant, AL, Barbara Garrison of Harrison, TN, Glenda McCauley of Silsbee, TX, and Shirley Patton of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; brother Jimmy (Billie Ann) Stephens of Phenix City, AL; also several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 7, 2019 in the Ryan Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jeff Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Stephens Cemetery on Porter Road. Family will receive friends 2 PM until 8 PM Friday and 11 AM until service time Saturday at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
