Diane Phillips Riddle, 75, of Trenton, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at her residence.


Mrs. Riddle was a graduate of Dade County High School, was a member of Hope Church and was an avid gardener. She was employed by Trenton Spinning Mill, a division of Shaw Industries, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edward Riddle, Sr., and parents, Rothel & Birley Shrader Phillips.


Survivors include her sons, Tim Richards, Trenton, GA, & James (Mary) Richards, Lee, FL; brothers, Terry (Jean) Phillips, and Donnie Phillips, all of Wildwood, GA; nephew, Nash Phillips, Wildwood, GA; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren. Also, Olan D. Barnett, loving companion and life long friend.


Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fuller Cemetery, Ider, AL.

WILDWOOD, GA: Evelyn Coletta Cole, age 96, passed away July 12, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Dade County. She married John B. Cole, Jr. in 1942.

Evelyn, a loving wife and mother, enjoyed life, including playing guitar, sewing, cooking, and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Cole, Jr.; parents Elvin and Maude Cureton; brother John Cureton; son-in-law Joe Tatum.


Survivors include her daughter, Linda Tatum; two nieces, two nephews, and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM EDT in the Trenton Chapel with Pastor Michael Pettengill officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Slygo.


Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM Tuesday ~ 2:00 PM.

Harold York, 84, of Lookout Mountain, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his residence.


Mr. York was retired from Lookout Mtn. Golf Course and was a member of the Slygo Free Holiness Church, having served the Lord for 61 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne York, son, Gene York, daughter, Tracie Edwards, and parents, Arvile and Jenny York.


Survivors include 5 daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Smith, Hixson, TN, Kaye (Chris) Edwards, Huntsville, AL, Ashley York, Lookout Mtn., GA, and granddaughters raised as daughters, Shannon (Todd) Stansberry, Harrison, TN and Jena (Mark) Derryberry, Lookout Mtn., GA; grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Ryan, Connor, Kaleb, Dylan, Austin, Chase, Brooklin, & Savanah; 3 brothers and 3 sisters with several nieces & nephews.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 13th at 4 p.m. at the Tiftonia Free Holiness Church with Bro. Donnie Walker and Bro. Aaron Wooten officiating. Interment will be in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton, GA.
