BRYANT, AL: George “Junior” Clark, age 86, passed away June 26, 2019. He was the proprietor of Clark Lumber Company for over 65 years. Junior loved to fish, golf, work in his garden and mow the yard, and tinkering. He was of the Baptist faith.


He was preceded in death by his father, George Sanders Clark, and mother, Clara; brothers Bobby Clark and Buddy Clark, and sister Shelby Barton.


Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Nina Ruth Clark and from this union became a family of 47, which included their children Delores (Eddie) Gilbert, Bryant, AL., Vickie (Robin) Smith, Ooltewah, TN., Sandy (Sandra) Clark, Bryant, AL., and Scott (Tina) Clark, Guild, TN; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters JoAnn Stone and Mary Lois Gray; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be held at 12:00 EDT Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Dean Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.


Visitation Friday 5:00 PM ~ 9:00 PM EDT; Saturday 11:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM EDT.

Nancy Lucille Puckett Thomas, 75, of Flat Rock, AL, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in Scottsboro, Alabama.


Ms. Thomas was a retired bookkeeper, a member of Caperton Chapel Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Ruth Lee Puckett and John Kenneth Thomas.


Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis (Charles) Payne, Knoxville, TN, & Susan Thomas, KY; sons, John Russell (Edna) Thomas & Michael (Tabatha) Thomas, all of Flat Rock; sister, Millie Puckett, Chattanooga, TN; brother, Russell (Mavis) Puckett, Athens, AL; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry O’Neal officiating.

Bryan Everett Gass, 80, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his residence.


Bryan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the city of Trenton Police Department and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Novella Gass and siblings, Kenneth Gass, Dana Cagle, Carolyn Wooten, & Sheila Spurgeon.


Survivors include his loving wife, Billie “Bit” Tinker Gass; children, Dewayne (Brenda) Gass of Trenton, & April Gass Holman of Dunlap, TN; grandchildren, Devonna (Kevin) Smartt of Trenton, Justin (Amanda) Gass of Bryant, AL, Nicole Cannon, Rising Fawn, GA, Dakota Ford & J.J. Ford, both of Dunlap, TN; great-grandchildren, Cole Smartt, Hunter Smartt, & Evelynn Ford; siblings, James Gass of Trenton, Delean Ervin of Las Vegas, NV, Brenda Smith & Gloria Weathers of Trenton; several nieces & nephews.


Funeral services with full military honors will be held Friday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Cantrell & Rev. Jerry Adkins officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Whitt Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
