On June the 5th of 2019, Dade County lost a long-time friend. Richard Hamilton, known to most as “Deadeye”, succumbed to illness and went to Glory in the company of his best friend, Ed King. For those that knew Deadeye, he was a man of few words but of incredible generosity of spirit. He was humble, never wanting to take credit for the many contributions he made to the New Salem Community over the years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, and father, Sanford, who are now welcoming him Home to the Lord’s Kingdom. He served proudly in the United States Air Force and was a graduate of the University of Southern Florida. For a quarter of a century, Richard worked for Coca-Cola.

Per his wishes, friends and family will carry his ashes to Elkhorn Rapids, on the Salmon River, at a time to be later announced. In lieu of flowers, please remember him fondly through donations to the New Salem Fire Department that he cared for so deeply.
