TRENTON, GA: Samuel “Sam” Allen Burns, age 50, passed away June 1, 2019. Sam loved his family and was proud of his boys and grandsons. They loved their dad and “Papa Sam”. Sam not only loved his family but was a friend to all he met. He enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, and wheeling and dealing.


He was preceded in death by his father, John Burns and brothers, Steve and Jimmy Burns.


He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Erin Burns, Sammy and Whitney Burns; grandsons Noah and Rowan Burns; mother Letha Burns; sisters Shirley (Fred) Ferguson, Janet Knight; brothers John (Sue) Burns, Jackie Burns, and Joe Burns; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM EDT Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery.


Visitation will be held Sunday 4:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM EDT; Monday 1:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM EDT; Tuesday 12:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM EDT.

TRENTON, GA: Jeffrey Wayne Conaway, 58 years of age, from Trenton, Georgia passed away suddenly on Monday, May 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.


Jeff was born September 3, 1960 in Rome, Georgia. He was a born-again Christian of the Baptist faith. He was a 1978 graduate of Northwest Georgia High School in Trenton, Georgia. After graduation he was employed as a lineman for the EPB for close to 20 years. He was a graduate of Northwest Technical College where he earned his certificate in Electrical Maintenance. For the last four years, he was employed by Bull Moose Tube in Trenton, Georgia as a machine operator.


Jeff had many interests. His first love was music and he enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He also loved to cook and smoke meat, frequently sharing his passion by feeding everyone he could. He also looked forward to hunting season every year and loved to fish as well.


He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Conaway and niece Natalie Hope Tomblin.


He is survived by his daughter, Erica Watson; son, Brandon (Kari) Conaway; grandchildren, Kaleigh Conaway, Kaitlyn Watson, Mady Conaway and Bryson Conaway; mother, Glenda Conaway; brothers, Greg April ) Conaway, David (Lisa) Conaway; sisters, Sherry Willingham; Lisa (Don) Townsend and Lori (Nathan) Tomblin along with his loving partner, Janice Freeman and is already so missed by many family members, coworkers and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Atkins officiating. Interment will be held in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Scott Allen Hill, 55, of Rising Fawn, GA, passed away peacefully May 27th at the home of his daughter. He was a graduate of Northwest GA High School, class of 1981, and was a business owner for the last twelve years. Scott was cared for with love by his daughters and his mother for the last two and a half months. Scott joined Trenton United Methodist Church in 1991, and enjoyed golf and stamp collecting.


Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Lee and Mary Helen Hill; Phyllis (Gigi) Hill; Henry Monroe and Elsie Inez Barton; stepfather Irvin Jackson.


He is survived by his daughters Lauren Alyn Hill, Samantha (Dylan) Mayes; father Russell (Myrna) Hill, mother Inez Jackson; sisters Myra (Lamar) Guffey, Kristen (Andy) Howell; brother Kirby (Jana) Hill; nieces and nephews Rachel (Michael) Moore, Kimberly Guffey, Aubrey Hill, Adrian Hill, Alandra Hill, Alister Hill, Atlas Howell, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.


A private family service will be held at a later date.
