George Oxford Barron, 79 of Starke, Florida, born in Juliette, Georgia, on April 15, 1940, passed away April 19, 2019.


George is preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris Holder Barron. Survivors include: his daughters: Doris (Jacob) Ewing of Tampa, FL, Beatrice H. (Wayne) Griffin of Starke, FL; sons: Gerald O, (Deborah) Barron of Tampa, FL, Claude M. (Joan) Hawes of Broadway, NC, six grandchildren: three great-grandchildren; sisters: Gail Barron, Iris Wilson and Wendy Broadnax; and brother, John Barron. He is preceded in death by his ex-wife, Helen Guess Barron and brother, James Barron.


Visitation will be on Saturday, April 27, at 12:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Graveside Service will begin at 1:30 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL, with Reverend Melvin Dawson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of George Oxford Barron to Teen Challenge, 3333 Phillips Highway, Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Lloyd Edward Troxtel, age 73, of Trenton, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2019. He was retired from Alstrom Power of Chattanooga. He belonged to the Boilermaker Local Union #656 of Chattanooga. He was of the Church of Christ Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Sarah Brown Troxtel; son, Tony Troxtel.


Survivors include his wife Glenda Gass Troxtel, Trenton, GA; two daughters, Kim (Steve) Buffington, Trenton, GA; Norma (Jackie) Stockman, Trenton, GA; brother, A.C. (Thelma) Troxtel, Trenton, GA; sister, JoAnn (Larry) Wheeler, Trenton, GA. 4 granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons. Also several nieces, nephews, and friends.


Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Minister Gary McDade officiating. Interment will be in Brown’s Gap Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Ryan Funeral Home and 11 A.M. until time of service on Friday.

Carol Ann Marona, age 64, of Trenton, GA, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019.

Ms. Marona was a graduate of Davis High School class of 1973. She had the biggest personality, told the best stories, always cheered the loudest, and for sure lived life to the fullest. She was known for her lack of fear, not holding back her opinion, and knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Mae Stephens and Clarence “Budge” Marona; brother, Larry Marona.


Survivors include her niece, Jennifer (Craig) Taylor of Trenton, GA; great-niece, Hazel Grace Taylor; great-nephew, Will Henry Taylor; sister-in-law, Debbie Rowe; and several, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.


A Celebration of Life will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of Celebration at 2 P.M.
