Roland Avery, Jr., 66, of Trenton, Georgia, died early Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in a local hospital.


He was of the Christian faith, a 1970 graduate of Dade County High School and was the owner/operator of Roland Avery General Contractor. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Roland Avery, Sr., & Robbie Louise Bishop Avery.


Survivors include his wife, Becky Avery, Trenton GA; daughter, Amy (Jason) Thompson, LaFayette, GA; son, Shane (Stacy) Avery, Trenton, GA; sister, Joan (Tom) Tucker, Rising Fawn, GA; grandchildren Devin Avery, A.J. Thompson, & Ashlynn Avery.


A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 20th at 5:00 p.m. in the old sanctuary of Trenton United Methodist Church with Rev. Reese Fauscett officiating.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.


The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour at Trenton United Methodist Church old sanctuary.

Joseph Allen Britt, age 84, of Trenton, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.


He was born on July 21, 1934 in Heber Springs, AK, the son of Berry and Ruby Britt. Mr. Britt was married to the late Doris Joan Groschwitz on July 9, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2011. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Britt enjoyed old westerns, golf, woodworking, and his grand and great-grandchildren.


He was also preceded in death by son Douglas Britt, daughter, Linda Owens, brother, sisters and parents.


Mr. Britt will be missed by his daughter Yvonne (Mike) Gothard; daughter Norma (Bill) Ramey; daughter, Beverly Guess; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; several nieces and nephews.


A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in the funeral home chapel.


The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.

TRENTON GA.: Jimmie Faye Dodson, age 71, passed away April 14, 2019.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Dodson; parents, Benjamin and Lovie Dewrell; brother John Benjamin Sargent.


Survivors include her sons Scott, Shane, and Craig Dodson, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters Winola Raines, Fort Oglethorpe, Maxine Malarkey, South Pittsburg, Wanda Hendershot, Red Bank; brother Frankie Sargent, Rossville; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM EDT in the Trenton Chapel with Brother Travis Watson officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.


Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM EDT; Wednesday 12:00 PM ~ 3:00 PM
