Gary Wade Cooper, age 73, of Ooltewah, TN was called to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2019. Mr. Cooper was of the Baptist Faith.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert H. Cooper and Clovella Lee Griffin Cooper; brother Bob Cooper; sister Judy Walker; grandson Justin Michael Simpson; great-grandson John Luke Petty.


Surviving include his wife of 53 years Carolyn Cooper; daughter Carolyn A. Simpson (R.J. Kitkowski) of Enterprise, AL; son Robert (Beverly) Cooper of Harrison, TN; son James (Kimberly) Cooper of Rising Fawn, GA; son Christopher (Brooke) Cooper of Jasper, TN; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Ronald (Mildred) Cooper of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.


Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2019 in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Williams and Rev. Gary Bone officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, New Hope, TN. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.

RISING FAWN, GA: Elenor Arlene Blevins, 77, of Durham, passed away on March 29, 2019.

Arlene was a loving mother figure to all of her nieces and nephews. She loved to garden, crochet, read books and listen to Marty Robbins records. She never met a stranger and was of the Baptist faith. Arlene was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting for the Atlanta Braves.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Matteani Blevins; brothers, Duane, Garnett, Garry and Lanny Blevins; brother-in-law, Conrad Patterson; sister-in-law, Sharon Blevins; niece, Millie Blevins; great-nephew, Jerrod Blevins.


Survivors include brothers Dwight (Merrion) Blevins and Ronald (Edna) Blevins; sister Myrna Patterson; sister-in-law, Marjorie Blevins; and several nieces and nephews.


No services will be held per Arlene’s request.

Harry Gene "Geno" Appleton, 90 of Bridgeport, AL, died March 30, 2019 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Harry was the son of the late Charles L. and Helen Kent Appleton born April 22, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Appleton was married for 58 years to the love of his life Mary Josephine Newton Appleton. Harry was a U. S. Army Korean War Veteran serving January1949-June 1952 and had worked as a Unit Operator with TVA. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Knights of Columbus in South Pittsburg, TN.


Survivors include: daughter Donna Appleton; sons: Buster (Suzette) Appleton, Charlie (Rita) Appleton, Paul (Gina) Appleton; grandchildren: Chad (Faith) Appleton, Chandra Rogers, Ashlee Appleton, Tyler (Katie) Appleton, Garren Appleton, Chris Appleton, Jeremy (Cheyenne) Appleton, Lexi Garner; great-grandchildren: Turner, Tori, Elijah, Holden, Harper, Liam, Jeremiah Appleton, Benson, Braylee, Blaine Rogers, Aleeyah Haygood; other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be Monday 4-8 and Tuesday 1-2 at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport. The Graveside Service will be Tuesday at 2 PM at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
