Gerald N. Smith, 76, of Trenton, GA, went to meet his beloved Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at home with his family and friends by his side.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Smith; daughter, Cindy Weeks; grandchildren, Sierra and Raelyn Weeks; his oldest sister, Dezma Medlin, age 96.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nettie Smith; brothers, Mark Smith, Carroll Smith; sisters, Regina Dickens and Charlotte Wheeler.
Gerald was born and raised in North Carolina and moved to Trenton, GA 7 years ago to be closer to his family. He enjoyed fishing, old cars and road trips.
He proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired firefighter. He was a member of the American Legion.
A service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery once the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
