The Dade County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a juvenile after an assault was reported in Rising Fawn on Tuesday.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, deputies received a call about an assault at a church in Rising Fawn. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, "it was reported that a preacher of a church in Rising Fawn located two unknown males skateboarding on church property. He observed the subjects jumping off a large retaining wall while skateboarding, and out of a concern for their safety, he asked them to leave. While he was asking the males to leave, one of the subjects struck the preacher, knocking him off his feet and on to the ground. The two males then got in to a vehicle and the vehicle left the scene."
Sheriff Ray Cross was notified of the event and immediately apprised the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the report and advised them to locate the unknown offenders as soon as possible.
Sheriff Cross' CID team, with assistance from road patrol, was able to locate the offender responsible for the assault.
The juvenile male offender is being charged with Criminal Trespass and Simple Battery.
