Mary Jo Garner, 83, of Trenton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2019 in a local hospital.


Mary Jo was a member of Trenton Ministry Center (Trenton Church of God) for 49 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Garner, son, Mark Garner, parents, Thomas & Bessie Mae Basham, two brothers, Obed & Thomas Basham, & sister, Juanita Gentry.


Survivors include her son, Mike (Carla) Garner; daughter-in-law, LeaAnn Garner Whitehead; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in Hooker Cemetery.

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA: Harlan Roy Reed, age 99, passed away November 19, 2019.


He was preceded in death by his wife Muriel A. Reed; parents Claire McKinley and Floy Pearl Reed; sister Loretta Younger; brothers Robert Reed and Leroy Foster Reed.


Survivors include his sister Dorothy Wilson; daughter Dianne L. Reed; sons Michael R. (Mary) Reed and Brian P. (Morie) Reed; six grandchildren Michael R. Reed, Jr., Brittney Nicole Reed, Paige Reed, Tate Reed, Jordan Reed, Matthew Pizana; great-grandchild Dominic Pizana.


Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing, Michigan.


Visitation will be from 1:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM at Estes-Leadley Funeral Home, Lansing, Michigan.

Eric Romuel Schmelzer, 53, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 15, 2019.


Born and raised in the Dearborn area of Michigan, Eric moved to Chattanooga where he started a new journey and brought his two sons into the world. He later moved to Georgia, where he lived the remainder of his life with his two sons as his focus. He was preceded in death by his father, Nickolas Schmelzer of Michigan.


Survivors include his sons, Nickolas & Kevin Schmelzer; mother, Carolyn Kelly, aunt, Debbie Bush; brother, Nickolas Schmelzer; sister, Leslie Davis; nephew, Jake Davis; niece, Jillian Davis; several cousins.
